Neurorehabilitation Research

Neurorehabilitation Research at NeuroTexas Institute seeks to advance the current knowledge and quality of rehabilitation for those with neurological disorders. Working in collaboration with St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, our researchers are seeking innovative ways to aid recovery from a nervous system condition or injury and to minimize and/or compensate any neurological deficits resulting from it.

Areas of research includes neurological plasticity in traumatic brain injury patients, surgical device and pharmaceutical interventions for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s and dystonia, various cognitive projects involving working memory and life skills recovery for post-acute stroke patients, and investigational treatments for spasticity in spinal cord injury.
