NTI 2011 Summer Internship Program

NTI would like to thank those students that participated in the 2011 summer research internship program and wish them success in their future academic endeavors! The NeuroTexas Institute Center for Computational Neuroscience interns included: Sathya Sankaran and David Choi who worked on a medical database initiative. They were joined by Marcus Goldberg, a UT Austin Freshman Research Initiative Fellow, and Jason Pan, a senior student at the Language Arts and Science Academy at LBJ high school, who worked together on a bioinformatics study of expression of cilia genes in glioblastoma. Robin Hartmann, a UT Austin Biomedical Engineering graduate student, completed a summer imaging externship, studied software algorithms to estimate brain atrophy from routine CT images. Chris Buoy, a University of California at Berkeley neurobiology undergraduate, worked in collaboration with the NTI clinical research department to create a novel study that will examine the use of novel back braces for the treatment of lower back pain.
